The College offers research programmes in various departments leading to the award of Ph. D. degree of Punjab Technical University to scholars registered for research work.


Eligibility for M.Tech. :

B.E./ B.Tech. or M.Sc. in appropriate branch with at least 55% marks in aggregate :
B.E./ B.Tech in Mechanical; Production; Industrial; Manufacturing; Welding; Material Science; Metallurgy Engineering etc. for M.Tech.in Production Engineering.
B.E./ B.Tech in any branch of Engineering for M.Tech. in Industrial Engineering.
B.E./ B.Tech in Electronics & Communication ; Electrical; Electronics & Instrumentation; Applied Electronics; Instrumentation and Control; ; Electrical & Electronics and Allied Branches thereof; as well as M.Sc. in Physics with Specilization in Electronics for M.Tech. in Electronics & Communication ; Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering.
B.E./ B.Tech in Civil Engineering for M.Tech. in Structural Engineering ; Geo-Technical Engineering and Soil Mechanics & Foundatin Engineering.
B.E./ B.Tech in Computer Science and In formation Technology for M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering.

Eligibility for MBA :

Graduation in any field / Those who have qualified MET conducted by PTU.

NOTE

Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers (India) candidates must posses- AMIE with at least 55% marks in aggregate after passing 3 year Diploma in appropriate aforesaid branch of Engineering.
At least 5 Years research of professional experience after Diploma.
Following conditions are to be met as per AICTE /University / College Rules for full-time Sponsored /Part-Time Candidates only.

The minimum percentage of Marks may be waived off for those who are teachers in Engineering Colleges or Polytechnics and have joined before 28.02.1989. (Refer AICTE. Guidelines)

The candidate must have minimum of two years of full time work experience in registered Firm/Company/Industry /Education and Research Institutions /any Govt. Departments or Govt. Autonomous organisation in the relevant Field in which Admission is being sought.

There will not be any age restrictions. However preference shall be given to those who are below 45 years of age.

A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to get admission. The employer should also indicate that the candidate would not to withdrawn mid-way till the completion of the course for all Part-Time candidates 7 sponsored Full-Time candidates.

The order of the merit for admission will be as follows :

GATE qualified candidate in order of GATE merit.
If any seats are left vacant the same will be offered to B.Tech. (or its equivalent) Qualified candidates in order of merit (in aggregate marks of all semesters).

Admission to M.Tech. Part-Time courses, regarding their distance :

Candidate mist be stationed either in the jurisdiction of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar or within the radius of 160 Km. By the shortest Rail/ Road route from the place of work to this college, including Rail/Road journey for Part-time M.Tech. candidates.

Regarding admission process :

(i) The candidate are bound to mark/ sign their presence on the date of counseling and on the subsequent dates of counseling, if any, as notify by the Admission Committee from time to time.

Officer In charge P.G. Courses should notify the next date of the counseling, In writing, to the candidate in waiting list/other the date of previous counseling with their signatures appended on it.

Decision regarding the provisional admission cases/ doubtful cases to some discrepancies shall be done ONLY on the date of counseling duly notify to the concerned candidates with discrepancy etc,/ candidate in the waiting list.

Regarding Original Certificates:

Original certificate including all certificates must be deposit by the candidate with the concerned O.I/c P.G. Course in case of his /her selection for the course, failing which admission offer shall not be given /refused.

Financial Assistance :

Limited Gate Scholarship as per GATE merit offered by the ministry of Education Government of India will be granted to the students who will admitted to M.Tech. Full-Time Production Engineering only. The candidates selected for GATE scholarship will have to give an undertaking to the effect that he/she has never drawn the GATE scholarship previously at any institution in the capacity of having passed GATE Examination. If Drawn, he/she will have to give number of month for which he/she has already drawn this Scholarship and the name of the Institution from where it was drawn.
