The Civil Engineer Department has been rendering Consultancy
Services to various Contractor, Semi Govt. and Private Agencies since
1979. This Department was pioneer in establishing "Testing and
Consultancy Cell" with a basic aim to provide quality service for
Technical Problems at reasonable and affordable rates as a service to
Society in general and Engineering Fraternity in particular. The
Consultancy Services of this cell is being utilised by various
Agencies and Individuals and the States of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal
Pradesh, J & K, and Rajasthan.

<p>     The Consultancy service rendered has won acclaim for the Civil
Engineering Department. Satisfactory solutions to intricate problems
relating to the Design of Buildings, Auditorium, Water Tanks etc.
have been given by the Department. The Architectural and Structural
Design of the Gurudwara in the College Campus provided by the
Department has been widely appreciated. Similarly, problems relating
to the Bearing Capacity of Soils and other aspects of Soils
Mechanics, Water Logging, Design of Foundation, Design of Highways
and the Inspection and Calibration of Survey Equipment have
frequently been referred to the Department. Recent addition is the
solution for Environmental Problems, Treatment studies for industrial
wastes, Design and Commissioning of Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP),
Design of Air Pollution Control Devices (APCD) and Adequacy Reports
for Existing / Designed ETPs and APCDs has given a wide recognition to
the Department throughout Northern India.
  
<p>     The volume and diversification of the consultancy and testing
work undertaken by the Department have made the Department extremely
popular with the clientele. The revenue generated by Civil
Engineering Department is approximately 96 % of the total revenue
generated by Consultancy Cell.
